DAWOOD,Mona Gergis; EL-AWADI,Mohamed E.
Melatonin is an environmentally friendly-molecule with a potent free radical scavenger and antioxidant capacity. Two pot experiments were conducted during two successive winter seasons (2011/2012 and 2012/2013) at the wire-house of the National Research Centre, Dokki, Cairo, Egypt to study the potentiality of melatonin (100 mM and 500 mM) in alleviating the harmful effect of diluted seawater at a relatively low and high concentrations (3.85 dS/m and 7.69 dS/m, respectively) on the performance of faba bean plants. The results revealed that irrigation of faba bean plants with diluted seawater reduced growth parameters (plant height, leaves number/plant, fresh and dry weights of plant), relative water content (RWC), photosynthetic pigments (chlorophylls a, b...

Aspectos nutricionais na vegetação de manguezal do estuário do Rio Mucuri, Bahia, Brasil Rev. Bras. Bot.

The Mineralogical Museum of the St.-Petersburg State University is housed in the building of the ‘Twelve Colleges’. It accomodates some of the most ancient mineralogical collections of Russia. The university mineral collection took its origin from a Mineralogical Cabinet of a Teacher’s Seminary, which was established in 1783. J.G. Georgi (1729-1802) was commissioned to collect minerals for the institute and he can be considered the founder of the museum. The history of enlarging and enriching the mineral collection is inextricably related with 19th century celebrities and their private collections. At the beginning of the 19th century, when the Seminary was transformed into a Pedagogical Institute, the collection of the Mineralogical Cabinet included in...
